Changes to NDIS in 2019

Longevity Exercise Physiology Edgecliff, Lindfield, Marrickville and Randwick have been servicing NDIS clients, however with the recent changes, you or someone you know may be able to utilise Longevity’s services.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for supports and services for Australians aged under 65, who have permanent and significant disability.

What are the changes to NDIS?

Last week the Australian Government announced an increase price limits for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services. They also announced that Exercise Physiology is now included in the Improved Daily Living Skills Category in addition to the Improved Health and Wellbeing Category, within the 2019 NDIS Support Catalogue.

You can find more information about the NDIS by clicking here.

How do the changes to NDIS affect you?

This means that Longevity Exercise Physiology is now able to treat more NDIS patients to improve the health and quality of life of more NDIS participants across our 4 locations in Edgecliff, Lindfield, Randwick and Marrickville. Similarly, these changes allow greater opportunity for NDIS participants to access services that will help optimise their health outcomes.

How can an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) help?

AEP’s are university qualified allied health professionals with the knowledge and skills to design, deliver and evaluate effective exercise interventions for people with disabilities.

As an example, AEP’s can help people with progressive neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, parkinsons disease, and motor neurone disease. They also help those with traumatic or acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, austim, chronic fatigue syndrome and down syndrome- just to name a few.

From our gym-based settings in Edgecliff, Lindfield, Randwick and Marrickville, the Exercise Physiologists at Longevity will help you set and achieve your goals. Throughout our sessions, we aim to improve all aspects of your health including strength, cardiovascular endurance, mobility and capacity to complete daily tasks.

If you would like more information or to enquire, please don’t hesitate to contact the Longevity team on 1300 964 002 or info@longevitypt.com.au.
