Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Bio

I found my passion for the health and fitness industry while growing up in competitive gymnastics/acrobatics, having competed at both a State and National level for 13 years. At 14 years old I got my first job as a gymnastics coach initially taking on recreational classes before progressing on to a competitive squad. Teaching gymnastics and being able to share my love for the sport that used to take up such a big part of my life was such a life changing experience for me.

As a competitive gymnast I’ve had my fair share of overuse injuries which has allowed me to experience the treatment process first-hand. As a young girl seeking health advice, I often didn’t feel “heard” by many of the health practitioners I visited. After having been told “you need to have some time off” by so many previous practitioners, it was refreshing to talk to an exercise physiologist who understood how important it was to me to maintain an active lifestyle and uphold my own personal goals.

I have also had my own battles with self-doubt and mental health as well as watching and helping my family first-hand through their own struggles. This process has allowed me to grow as a person, build confidence and learn to re-frame my thinking, especially when things don’t go my way.

These experiences led me to pursue a career in exercise physiology, graduating from UNSW with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology in 2022. I now have the incredible opportunity to help others improve their quality of life and am a big believer in taking a wholistic approach to help individuals reach their own goals. My interests include mental health, musculoskeletal injuries, mobility and hyper mobility as well as helping beginners feel comfortable and confident in the gym.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family (and dog), going for walks along the beach and going to the footy with my dad (go Sharkies!) and I’m always open and happy to have a chat!
