Longevity and the NDIS… what makes us different?
Participant centred care, individualised programs to match goals leading to self- management …
Lots of allied health practitioners promise this, but Longevity deliver.
When you start training with Longevity, you as the NDIS participant are at the centre of everything we do. We listen to your goals, what you want to achieve, and then we plan the best way to achieve them with you. Aiming towards improving your independence and quality of life. Whether this looks like being able to shower and get dressed on your own or join a local sporting team – we tailor the sessions to you.
We understand that exercising with a chronic condition can be scary – but you are in safe hands with our team. All our team are university qualified and are experts in how chronic conditions can be benefited by exercise. If we don’t know about the condition you present with, we will be an expert by your first session. Your safety is our number one priority. We have learnt about conditions including:
- Autism,
- Cerebral palsy,
- Asperger syndrome,
- Down Syndrome,
- Parkinson’s disease,
- Dementia,
- Motor neuron disease,
- Spinal muscular atrophy,
- Spinocerebellar Ataxia, as well as many others.
Knowing that every individual is different, we don’t offer a ‘cookie-cutter’ solution. We program for you as an individual. We will also be in contact with every allied-health practitioner you are currently seeing. Collaboration is one of our key values, working together so we can plan together and achieve your goals.
“Knowing that every individual is different, we don’t offer a ‘cookie-cutter’ solution. We program for you as an individual.”
Something different about Longevity is that we are primarily based in gyms with an awesome community feel. For those in which the gym is a suitable environment, it has several benefits including:
- Access to all the different equipment so we can be creative and tailor exercises to you
- Socialise with the gym community
- Aim to help you exercise on your own safely and teach you on equipment you can use
For participants who are unsuitable for a gym, we provide home visits and Telehealth consults. Although in clinic sessions are ideal – we still create life-changing programs in these environments, we can cater to anyone.
“We don’t just program for the participant’s here and now … We design what will be best for the long term.”
This means working with you to develop the best plan with the funding available and what will be best for the participants health in the long run.
Independence. Function. Long-term results.
We are located across Sydney, so no matter what we will have an Exercise Physiologist near you.
