Client Success Story: Power Couple Staying Fit during Lockdown

Today Longevity Exercise Physiology Drummoyne, EdgecliffMarrickvilleBella VistaRandwickPymbleNeutral Bay and Balmain look at a client success story during this lockdown.

Let’s look at how Exercise Physiology sessions are helping a large range of our clients to exercise safely at home and feel connected to the community.

John* and Susie* have been training with Longevity Exercise Physiology at our Neutral Bay location for many years, participating in classes together at the studio, keeping each other accountable over the years and improving with strength and fitness.

They have always enjoyed training in the gym, making sure each one of them attended each session. It had never crossed their mind that they would have to continue exercising with their Exercise Physiologist over Zoom. Lockdown struck and they had to make the decision whether to switch their training online, continue coming into the clinic or stopping training all together.

With John wanting to continue in the clinic and Susie wanting to train online, it was the first time since beginning training that they had done exercise sessions alone. After a couple of weeks training by themselves, they knew they were less accountable without the support of each other. They discussed the idea of online sessions with their Exercise Physiologist to determine whether they were able to get the same results at home than when training within the gym. They talked with their Exercise Physiologist about the lack of space and limited equipment that they had at home and whether this would affect their training capabilities.

John has been able to execute more push ups on the floor than ever before with Susie lifting heavier weights with all her exercises. On top of this Susie is going for walks around the local community most days, and John enjoys playing golf with his family and friends throughout the week

Their Exercise Physiologist was able to swiftly transfer and alter their programs to suit the home-based sessions via zoom. John and Susie have been able to continue exercise sessions twice per week guided by their Exercise Physiologist and are continuing to achieve results. John has been able to execute more push ups on the floor than ever before with Susie lifting heavier weights with all her exercises. On top of this Susie is going for walks around the local community most days, and John enjoys playing golf with his family and friends throughout the week. They are both very thankful for Longevity’s quick transition to online sessions which have allowed them to continue supervised sessions and continue achieving results.

This story is just one example of teamwork that has been displayed throughout the Covid 19 lockdown period. John and Susie are committed to their health and fitness, being able to keep each other accountable and exercising with us twice per week on telehealth. This has allowed them to be comfortable within their own home.
