1:1 vs Group Training: Why You Need to Make the Change

Having 60minutes of uninterrupted time with you and a health professional is something that is unique to Longevity. We believe that this is the best way to achieve achieve life changing results for our clients. However, we understand for some of you, the energy and community of a group class can be appealing. Today, Longevity Exercise Physiology Drummoyne, EdgecliffMarrickvilleCastle HillRandwickPymbleKingsgrove, Neutral Bay and Coburg.  ask our Exercise Physiologist Nat, who has had experience with both group and 1:1 training, for her thoughts.

Having recently experienced the transition from group fitness to one-on-one sessions myself, I’ve got some insight on how valuable this can be, not only for your health and fitness goals, but also for how empowering it can be training in a diverse environment, such as a commercial gym!

Coming from a background in group training as both a client and a coach, I love the atmosphere and ability to be pushed by those training around you in this environment.  However, I have noticed from my personal experience the ceiling that somewhat presents to individual progression when training in these environments. Because sessions aren’t designed to suit a specific individual but a whole group, you can often see a plateau in fitness improvements

Making the change from group training to individualised sessions? Here’s why you should give it a go!

 – Maxiumum value with a completely personalised experience

– Join a growing community that is supportive and friendly

– No ceiling to your progression

With one-on-one training, the opportunity to excel is endless.

One of the benefits that I have first-handedly enjoyed since joining the team at Longevity, is that all locations have fostered a strong sense of community within the gym environments they operate. This means you’re still able to experience the social interaction and group vibe, all whilst getting a full hour of individualised training.

Your Longevity Exercise Physiologist is also able to adapt and modify the plan on the day depending on how you are feeling, meaning your session will provide you with maximum output and value.

It’s so important to be training in a place that makes you feel comfortable, supported and excited to want to turn up to each and every session that you have booked as you know you will be seeing results. Whether it’s knowing that you’ve almost hit a PB for your 5km run, you’re deadlifting more than you ever thought you could or you’ve made new friendships with people from all walks of life, Longevity Exercise Physiologists are specialists in providing a space for these accomplishments to occur!

Having access to an Exercise Physiologist is such a valuable resource that is becoming increasingly more sought after, and for good reason! Exercise Physiologists have the knowledge and ability to expertly guide you in an appropriate direction, considering your current exercise habits and fitness goals. I believe there is no one better to take you on this journey than with the Longevity team!
