Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Ashleigh Mead joins Longevity

Longevity Exercise Physiology Edgecliff, Lindfield, Marrickville and Randwick introduce Ashleigh Mead, another Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join the Edgecliff team.

Ashleigh loves sport. She grew up participating in a huge variety of activities including, dance, gymnastics, swimming, cross country and tennis. At her high school, St Clare’s College, Waverley, Ashleigh was known for her sporting participation and became particularly fond of Athletics, Netball, Touch-football, Softball and Indoor Soccer.

During her last year of school Ashleigh attended the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) and it was here that she decided to combine her academic interest in science with her love of sport and pursue a career in Allied Health.

Ashleigh completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology) at the University of Sydney where she gained a variety of insightful experiences in Public Hospitals, Community Mental Health and Private Practice.

Ashleigh is passionate about education and providing people with tools and support so that they are empowered to make positive lifestyle changes. She believes in an individualised, holistic exercise approach that addresses poor movement patterns and includes functional exercise, balance training, cardiopulmonary fitness and resistance exercises.

Ashleigh has worked with clients of all ages and with varying health conditions. Her skills are particularly well developed in the areas of falls prevention training and metabolic management. She also has a special interest in treating Osteoarthritis, Women’s health, Mental Health and Exercising with Cancer.

After spending considerable time studying and working in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, Ashleigh is excited to be back in the Eastern Suburbs – working at Longevity, Edgecliff, and training her clients at the gym and in her local area.

Ashleigh enjoys watching Rugby League, travelling around Australia and spending time at her family’s farm. She loves playing Social Netball and Touch Football with her friends during the week and plays competitive netball for Marrickville All Stars on Saturdays. Ashleigh is always keen for a chat about the footy, animals or interesting travel ideas.

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Ashleigh strives to help every client positively engage with exercise so that they can achieve their goals and ultimately improve their quality of life.
