COVID-19 and your exercise options

Our lives have all changed most recently in light of COVID-19 and for anyone who has concerns in maintaining their exercise during this time can seek help from Longevity. Longevity wish to remind you of the importance of exercise for overall physical health and mental wellbeing. This is where working closely with an Exercise Physiologist is imperative. Our Exercise Physiologists are trained to come up with bespoke exercise solutions and will communicate with you to achieve the best possible outcomes.

As gyms are shut and it is time to isolate, Longevity Exercise Physiology can be helping you online via Telehealth. Telehealth is the communication of health information via video, telephone or internet. Longevity Exercise Physiology understand Exercise Physiology services can be limited in rural and remote areas and now have the ability to give this service and help improve these people’s lives through online consults. Our preferred mode of Telehealth is a video consult where one of our Exercise Physiologists can assess, prescribe and guide you with your exercise needs. You do not need equipment at home, our Exercise Physiologists can guide you with minimal to no equipment. Your Longevity Exercise Physiologist will also happily communicate with your GP, surgeon and other allied health professionals to achieve the best possible outcome for you.

Telehealth has recently been approved for all Medicare*, NDIS, DVA, Workcover, and Private Health Rebate services.

*Medicare services are bulk billed. It is best to check with your general practitioner to see if you are eligible.

Longevity’s Exercise Physiologist Angela Vitucci interviewing Kornelia on the use of Telehealth.

Words from Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Angela Vitucci

I grew up in Griffith, New South Wales and moved to Sydney in 2011 for university studies. I completed a Bachelor of Human Movement and a Masters in Exercise Physiology at the University of Technology Sydney, and the University of Sydney, respectively. I have been working in the health and fitness industry since 2012 and I have been practicing in a private setting as an Exercise Physiologist since 2016. I have experience rehabilitating back patients, heart disease, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s disease in particular however I’ve seen a range of other conditions too. Although I haven’t moved back home yet, I feel this is a time where I can give back to the community of Griffith. With Longevity’s transition and the government’s approval of Telehealth, I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to service friends, family and the wider community.
