Bio
Born and raised in the south of England, my keen interest in exercise initially began with a love for football (soccer). Moving to Australia at the age of 8, my horizons expanded as I tried Little Athletics and played both football (soccer now) and cricket at representative levels. At age 16, I experienced stress fractures in my lower back, causing me to spend a lot of time on the sidelines recovering and unable to participate in the sports I loved. After many unsuccessful treatment attempts and further disc herniations at age 19, I used my strength training knowledge from my undergraduate degree to see if it helped. I found that informed and smart exercise helped me return to pain-free movement, allowing me to return to the sports I love.
This blossomed my interest in Exercise Physiology, using the latest evidence to help people return from injury and manage chronic conditions with smart, tailored and informed exercise prescription. I truly believe that exercise should be seen as treatment for a wide range of conditions and injuries, and I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and feel back to their best.
Outside the gym setting I love to try new activities and see new places. These include finding a new weekend market, hiking the great Australian wilderness, finding the next coffee spot and visiting my family home in the Blue Mountains to escape the city and catch up with old friends.
