Exercise and Veterans: How Exercise Physiology can assist under DVA

For many of us, we know regular exercise is important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. However, as a veteran you may not be aware of the services an exercise physiologist can provide if you have a DVA White or Gold Card!

Longevity Exercise Physiology Castle Hill, Drummoyne, Edgecliff, Five Dock, Kingsgrove, Marrickville, Neutral Bay, Pymble, Randwick, Rhodes, Casey, Gungahlin and Coburg have made it easy to understand what you are entitled to under DVA.

What is available under DVA white and gold cards?

If you have a Veterans Gold Card, you can claim exercise physiology treatment for all conditions. If you are in possession of a White Card, you are covered for treatment of specific, accepted conditions only.

How do I access Exercise Physiology services under DVA?

If you hold a valid Veteran Card, you will need a referral from your GP for an initial treatment cycle up to 12 sessions. At the conclusion of those sessions you will need a new referral for another treatment cycle.

If you hold a Gold Card embossed with TPI (Totally and Permanently Incapacitated), this treatment cycle does not apply to you.

Who do we see and what are our services?

At Longevity Exercise Physiology, we work with many veterans with a wide range of conditions including:

  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Chronic pain
  • Osteoporosis
  • Mental Health conditions including depression, anxiety and PTSD.
  • Weight loss/management\
  • Injury rehabilitation
  • Neurological conditions
  • And many more!

We have many options for our services for you to access exercise physiology. We are primarily gym-based but offer home visits and Telehealth to anyone if you can’t get to the gym or prefer this method of exercise.

So if you are a veteran with a white or gold card do not wait! Make an appointment with your GP for a referral to see how a Longevity Exercise Physiologist can help you achieve your goals!
