Finding Confidence: Lessons from Week 4 of EP Placement

Hey, it’s Charlie. I’m in my first year at the University of Sydney, studying a Masters of Exercise Physiology, and I’m back again for another week in review of my placement at Longevity Marrickville. Let’s see how week 4 turned out…

Confidence was definitely super high this week. After 3 weeks of building up more knowledge and developing the required skills to run client sessions, this week felt like everything was coming together. I really leapt out of my comfort zone and asked more questions this week to my supervisors, picking their brain on perfecting client experience, work life at Longevity, exercise protocols, and tips on mastering skills as an EP.

The EP’s here have been really insightful and open to talking about their challenges, how they have improved, and advice on how to best approach problems and weaknesses if they arise. This has given me confidence as I progress through my university studies to always try to upskill and work on my weaknesses to become the best EP possible for my future clients.

Onto week 5 we go! Only 2 weeks left to go now. Time to keep improving and building, working on my areas of development from my Mid-Placement Assessment, and enjoy the rest of my time here with Marrickville’s awesome clients!

See you next week!
