Grace Ryan
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Bio
I grew up in Griffith in south-western NSW where I formed my love of sport and physical activity, in particular netball, playing it from the age of 5 in a range of formats including representative netball and coaching, which I loved. Throughout my younger years, I also tried my hand at basketball, tennis, swimming, touch football, and rowing, developing a deep appreciation for the positive effects of regular physical activity. More recently I have taken a liking to run and hiking, with my sights set on completing a half-marathon (and eventually a marathon!)
A love of exercise has always been a constant in my life and led me to pursue a career as an Exercise Physiologist. I completed my Exercise Physiology degree at UNSW and have previous experience working within the Worker’s Compensation system, helping people recover from workplace injuries and improve their capacity through an individualized exercise program. I am passionate about helping people find forms of movement that they can enjoy in order to reap the physical and mental benefits of regular exercise. I believe that it is never too late to commence an exercise program and am committed to adapting exercises to make them accessible to all. I have had family experience with stroke and cognitive fatigue and therefore have a keen special interest in the benefits of exercise for neurological conditions, as well as chronic pain and elderly populations, improving independence and overall quality of life.
