Stepping Up: Taking the Lead in Week 3 of My Longevity Internship
Hey it’s Taylah here – I am currently in my final year of completing my Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Deakin University and I’m back to report on how my 3rd week of my Internship went!
Week 3 has definitely picked up compared to the first couple of weeks – I’m now taking on more responsibility during client sessions, running sessions as much as possible and taking on feedback from the EP’s on how to improve my skills and quality of each session. This has really helped my development to ensure I can deliver the best experience for the client along with increasing my confidence session to session.

I have also begun to contribute to the exercise prescription for clients – this has been super beneficial in understanding the Longevity session structure and the processes that go into planning each session. It has also given me the opportunity to implement some of the exercise prescription guidelines I have learnt from uni and use them with real clients that present with that pathology – a really helpful learning experience for what’s to come post uni.
On Thursday, I co-hosted the ‘Synergy Session’ where we ran through some general information with the students along with completing a client case study to further enhance all of our learning. We had some great group discussions around how to approach exercising clients that are presenting differently and it was great to see students bouncing off each other with their experiences and ideas.
I’m looking forward to building on this in week 4!
