Kale Barton-Bissaker

Kale Barton-Bissaker

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Bio

Kale has been submerged in in high performance sport for most of his adult life. Growing up Kale was apart of inner west representative teams for both cricket and rugby where he learnt from firsthand experience the physical and cognitive demands of high performance and developed a strong understanding of exercise science principles. Kale then applied this experience as a first grade intern at the South Sydney Rabbitohs and then in his role as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Parramatta Eels Jersey Flag team.

Kale is an Exercise Scientist (Completed at the Australian Catholic University) & Accredited Exercise Physiologist (Completed at Charles Sturt University).  During his time throughout the completion of his university degrees, Kale worked as a Personal Trainer and Exercise Physiologist Assistant, which enabled him to place his newly developed skills and knowledge into practice. It was in his role as an Exercise Physiology assistant that Kale developed a strong desire to not only help those in high performance sport but also individuals living with chronic injury or illness.  The idea of implementing and utilising exercise as a means of treatment or medicine, excites him. Kale has worked extensively with individuals with musculoskeletal injuries, metabolic conditions (diabetes), cancer, mental health conditions, cardiovascular complications, and degenerative bone conditions to help improve their independence and overall quality of life.

Kale also enjoys aiding in the development of teenagers, where exercise can be used as a tool to improve confidence and physical performance. Kale believes with an exposure to correctly prescribed exercise early in an individual’s life, one can build foundations to promote the longevity of life.
