Longevity meets with Military Road Physiotherapy!
The teams at Longevity Drummoyne, Edgecliff, Marrickville, Bella Vista, Randwick, Pymble, Balmain, Neutral Bay, Coburg – Melbourne, and Barrie, Ontario – Canada are strong believers in client centred care. We truly value tailoring our exercise prescription to the individual that presents in front of us.
Something in-line with these beliefs is meeting with other allied health professionals. In these meetings we discuss client case studies to help better our knowledge of conditions, signs of when to refer on to other allied health professionals and to collaborate multiple minds worth of knowledge. All of which lead to better outcomes and treatment plans for clients.
This blog highlights a meeting held by Longevity Neutral Bay and Military Road Physiotherapy (MRP). MRP were kind enough to welcome the Longevity team into their practice to have a quick catch up and for both sides to delve into a case study of a mutual client (with client’s consent). Both teams presented their treatment methodologies and rationale, allowing staff from each location to ask questions.
We asked our Andrew, one of our Exercise Physiologists at Neutral Bay why he thinks these case study meetings are beneficial and he highlighted 3 main things:
- Having a structured conversation around a case study facilitates for educational conversations, bettering both parties’ knowledge
- These meetings build rapport and trust between allied health professionals. They’re a stepping stone to making contact easier to discuss client care
- It’s a step that we take to show and improve our professional knowledge, but to also show we really do care about our clients.
“It was so lovely to be able to sit in a room with other people in the allied-health field after not being able to due to the pandemic. Being able to see other people’s clinic space and genuinely connect with them face-to-face in an educational conversation was refreshing.”
The improved client outcomes from these collaborative meetings can be clearly seen in the improvements made (see below) by a mutual client of Military Road Physiotherapy and Longevity Neutral Bay.
Through clear and consistent communication between all parties, training and treatment goals aligned, this allowed for focus for both allied health services to work on similar things with their respective knowledge. As seen above the client has made huge progress! Well done to Longevity Neutral Bay, Military Road Physiotherapy and the client for their awesome results!
“In summation teamwork between allied health professionals ultimately allows for client centred care – with more minds working together it will improve client outcomes.”
