How Longevity Exercise Physiology in Ascot Vale Helps You Conquer Knee Pain

Knee pain can be a frustrating barrier to enjoying daily life—whether it’s returning to your favourite sport or completing your activities of daily living such as walking the dog and climbing stairs. At Longevity Exercise Physiology in Ascot Vale, we specialise in helping people of all ages and fitness levels overcome knee pain through personalised, evidence-based exercise programs.

Why Exercise Physiology Works for Knee Pain

Many people worry that exercise might worsen their knee pain and this can be true without the correct guidance. However, the right kind of movement can actually be one of the most effective ways to manage and reduce discomfort in your knees. Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) focus on:

  • In-depth Assessment of the joint and surrounding muscles: To ensure exercise prescription suits the individual’s needs.
  • Strengthening the muscles around the knee: Building strength in the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes helps support the knee joint and reduces strain.
  • Improving joint stability and mobility: Targeted exercises enhance balance and flexibility, which are crucial for knee health.
  • Reducing inflammation and pain: Regular, low-impact activity can decrease joint stiffness and promote healing.

These strategies are particularly effective for conditions like osteoarthritis, patellar tendonitis, and general wear-and-tear injuries.

Real Success Stories

Take Phil, for example. After chronic right knee pain sidelined him from running and rugby, he turned to Longevity. Working with AEP Kale Barton-Bissaker, Phil followed a tailored program that gradually rebuilt his strength and confidence. Today, he’s back to running and enjoying an active lifestyle.

Similarly, David faced persistent knee and shoulder pain that made exercise daunting. With guidance from Ellen Spencer at our Five Dock location, he embraced a personalised routine that not only alleviated his pain but also reignited his passion for golf and running.
