Placement Reflections: Week 5 at Longevity Marrickville with Charlie

Hey, it’s Charlie. I’m in my first year at the University of Sydney, studying a Masters of Exercise Physiology, and I’m back again for another week in review of my placement at Longevity Marrickville. Let’s see how week 5 treated me…

This week I felt like I really honed my skills across a few different areas. Firstly, I attended a zoom PD session run by one of the interns currently here at Longevity. In this session I picked up key tips on how to progress and break through various barriers quickly when they arise with clients; being challenged to think on the spot and respond appropriately. Secondly, progressing to taking whole sessions with clients was a great experience and really challenged me to incorporate everything I have learnt, at university and Longevity, whilst maintaining the best possible client experience. I found this difficult at times, but with healthy encouragement and feedback from my supervisors I was able to quickly improve!

Definitely keen to see what the next and last week of my placement brings, I had a few final sessions with clients this week which was tough! It’s crazy to think that in only a few weeks a really good relationship can be built! I wish these clients well in their future, in and out of Longevity Marrickville, and hope they keep smashing their goals with the great EP’s here!

Keen to smash my 6th and final week here at Longevity Marrickville.

See you all next week!
