The Annual Longevity Retreat – January 2022

Longevity Exercise Physiology Drummoyne, EdgecliffMarrickvilleBella VistaRandwick, PymbleBalmain and Neutral Bay  reflect on our recent trip down the south coast for our annual team retreat.

The Annual Longevity Retreat was held over the 21st-23rd January 2022 in Gerringong. We had 21 Team members attend in person and were luckily able to include 3 (covid isolation) via Zoom. The retreat included a mix of strategic planning, team member reflections, insights from Jarrat, social time and team dinners.

Friday Morning –

We all arrived excited and ready to go. For some of us this was the first opportunity to meet some of our new team members face to face. We gathered in the conference room and got ready for our first session of the day. In our first session we focused on the year that had passed and the strategic plan for 2022. Jarrat gave us some great insights into the Longevity business and where we were heading this year.

Lunch by the pool! We all sat around enjoying some yummy food and getting to know each other better. Some went for a swim in the hotel pool while others headed to the beach for a walk.

Friday Afternoon –

Another whole team session where we focused on goal setting, personal growth and location-based targets. We also did a refresher on our vision, mission values which was super motivating for the team. We had a couple of hours before dinner to unwind and socialise with the team. We found our room buddy, got organised and then headed to the beach for a swim.

Friday Night –

We gathered at the Mercure restaurant for a team dinner. Lots of great food, drinks and laughs shared with the team. After dinner we continued to hang out as a group and enjoyed some games.

Saturday Morning –

We all got up and split off into groups to do some exercise and explore Gerringong. Some went for a long walk while others enjoyed a swim and coffee at the local café.

For Saturday’s morning session, we did a Zoom call with Mitch in Canada and had a group discussion about opening a business.

After another lunch break and swim in the pool, we returned for the afternoon session. Jarrat took us through a session about personal finance and investing.

Saturday Evening –

After another afternoon at the beach, relaxing with the whole team – we all got ready for dinner. We all went out to a restaurant in Gerringong and had a great time celebrating the past two days of retreat and our new friendships.

Sunday –

With the official part of retreat finished, we all spent the day relaxing and exploring Gerringong and its surroundings. Some went for brunch in Kiama while others played golf and lawn bowls.

What was the best thing about retreat?

“As a location leader it was great to see my younger team members bonding and enjoying time with their new colleagues. I also love how retreat helps us all to align and become motivated for the year ahead!”

– Ashleigh (3rd Retreat, Randwick and Marrickville Teams)

“This was my 2nd retreat, and it was awesome to see the team gel so well together since nearly doubling in size since last year. I met a lot of new team members for the first time and everyone got on like a house on fire. Cannot wait for a big 2022 with this team.”

– Guy (2nd Retreat, Edgecliff Team)

“I love having the chance to step away from the work environment and come together with the whole team in a relaxed and fun environment. Being able to refresh our focus as a business, get to know all the new team members and learn from other people is something I’m very grateful for.”

– Courtney (4th Retreat, Edgecliff team)

“Coming into the retreat in my first week on the job, I was anxious to meet whole team for the first time. My nerves quickly settled, and I felt right at home with the Longevity team – it truly feels like a family and the culture is second to none! Keen to bring on big things with them in 2022”

– Grayson (1st Retreat, Pymble Team)

“The retreat was the best icebreaker I could have asked for, giving me an amazing opportunity to meet and bond with the entire team. Learning and developing together at the retreat really showed me how tight of a family Longevity is, and I’m so excited to be a part of it and to grow together with everyone!”

– Kevin (1st Retreat, Bella Vista Team)
