The Holiday Exercise Reality: How Did You Measure Up?

Eating, Drinking, Relaxing. We all know these are common things we do over Christmas/New Years period, but what did you do for exercise over this time? What’s your plan to get back into routine, or kickstart your new years resolution of being more active?

Here’s a short activity for you below. Answer the following questions, and be honest!

How many minutes of aerobic exercise have you done in the last fortnight?

How many resistance training sessions have you done in the last fortnight?

How many steps have you done each day? Check the health app on your phone.

Now you have your answers, how did you measure up to the Australian Physical Activity Guidelines:

150-300 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity or 75-150 minutes of vigorous physical activity

Strength training at least 2 days a week

If you’ve done the activity above and are thinking “I’m nowhere near those numbers” “the recommendations seem awfully high” or, “I was pretty active over the holidays and came pretty close.”

Your next point of action should be to get in touch with us! Why? Because you can’t afford NOT to.
