Vasco Da Silva
Vasco Da Silva
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Bio
Growing up in a Portuguese household in Perth WA, Vasco quickly found himself on the football (soccer) pitch from a young age. Vasco’s commitment to the sport saw him play and learn from various elite teams across Europe during his teenage years before returning to Perth, where he continued to play semi-professionally until his recent move to Sydney. Despite moving, and changing circumstances, football and physical activity has always been a constant in his life, and from it, his passion for exercise grew.
Vasco completed his Bachelor in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation at Edith Cowan University (ECU), where he developed his clinical knowledge and skills which reinforced his previous learnings from elite athletic environments. During his studies, Vasco found a key interest in the positive effects of exercise on mental health and behavior change that led him to participate and contribute to on-going research in the field.
Prior to relocating to Sydney, Vasco worked in the worker’s compensation and NDIS space as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), enabling injured workers to safely return to their pre-injury duties and improving the quality of life of those under an NDIS plan. Through this, and his life experiences, Vasco has gained experience in musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, chronic illness, mental health and behavior change, as well as elite athlete performance.
Vasco strongly believes that exercise IS medicine, and will strive to engage in a more active lifestyle by helping you achieve your goals, prevent illness and/or injuries, as well improving your day to day function – all with a smile on his face!
