Longevity City2Surf!

Longevity Exercise Physiology, Drummoyne, Edgecliff, Marrickville, Castle Hill, Randwick, Pymble, Kingsgrove, Neutral Bay, and Coburg,   had a magical day last Sunday as they made there way down to Bondi as part of this years City2Surf. This is the first time Longevity have entered a team in the event, and we had some fantastic results to show for it! More importantly though, it served as a celebration for our clients and all the hard work they put in to get to this point.

We had almost 40 of our clients and Exercise Physiologists line up on the start line, all with different goals for the day. Some our team ran the whole way, an incredible achievement, while others walked and enjoyed the atmosphere, which in itself is no small feat!

We had some incredible results from both our clients and Exercise Physiologist. Grace Ryan, our Exercise Physiologist in Edgecliff, was our fastest EP for the day, finishing the course in 1hour and 12minutes. Well done Grace! Longevity’s Director, Jarrat Wood walked the 14km without a hitch, a fantastic milestone as he approaches 12months since his hip replacement.

Two of Drummoyne’s long term clients, both females in their mid fifties, completed the course in under two hours. Both of these women ran majority of the course, significantly exceeding their expectations. One of our clients from Edgecliff completed the run in a blistering 1hour and 8minutes, which is an astonishing effort.

Majority of our team however walked the course. All of different backgrounds and abilities, it was incredible to see so many of our clients and Exercise Physiologists get out there and have a go. This is a significant fitness milestone, it’s fantastic to see so many individuals in our community prioritising their health and well-being.

To celebrate all our hard work and a fantastic day out on the course, we all sat down for breakfast in Bondi post race for a well earned meal. As members of our team trickled in for breakfast, everyone was welcomed with a round of applause and cheers. It’s incredible to see the community we have created and how supportive everyone was of each others achievements.

It’s safe to say this year’s Longevity City2Surf team was a great success. So much so, we’ve already stared thinking about next year!
