Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Bio

I have had a life-long relationship with exercise, playing a range of sports from a very young age. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease whilst in high school which affected my energy levels, ability to exercise and connect with the people I enjoy being with the most – my teammates. I studied a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science to understand how far the human body can be pushed. I was accepted and completed the Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology. This allowed me to understand, on a deeper level, how to use exercise to help people return to the things that matter most to them.

After working with my first lifting coach I learned the importance of building strong relationships, working towards a clear goal and having a team of people behind me when working towards something important, whether it’s exercise related or not! I experimented with competitive powerlifting, football, performative martial arts and most recently Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

I gained exposure to strength and conditioning training through several years of significant experience in the field as well as external course work, certifications and mentorships. This allowed me to apply my knowledge in health areas which include; aged care, neurological conditions, mental health, semi-professional sport and commercial gym training. Through the years I have come to understand the most important factors that contribute to success are – clear communications and consistent effort. This doesn’t mean pushing 110% everyday but rather, doing your absolute best with whatever you have available to you.

My aim is to help demystify exercise and make it more accessible for everyone as I believe the solution is often simpler than it seems however, made easier with the right team around you.
