A Shift in Mindset: Peter’s Client Success Story
As part of Client Appreciation Week, we’re excited to share another remarkable success story from Longevity Exercise Physiology Drummoyne, Edgecliff, Marrickville, Castle Hill, Randwick, Pymble, Kingsgrove, Neutral Bay and Coburg. Meet Peter, who has embarked on an extraordinary transformation with Longevity.
Rewind to August 2020, Peter weighed 102 kilograms and faced several health challenges, including knee pain and elevated blood markers. As his health and well-being became increasingly difficult to manage, It’s safe to say that Peter was not living life to the fullest.
Everyday became a struggle. Peter recognised it was time to make a change. He knew to have any chance of success, that he couldn’t do this on his own. Peter began training with our Exercise Physiologist, Luke, in Neutral Bay.
Peter began training with Luke twice a week. Additionally, from the education and accountability Peter received from Luke during sessions, Peter began incorporating more healthy habits into his daily routine outside of his supervised Exercise Physiology sessions.
Peter had some fantastic results when he initially began training with Luke in 2019. However, it wasn’t until Luke joined the Longevity team in 2021, that Peter’s attitude and approach to his long term health and wellbeing really transformed. Through his sessions at Longevity, Peter began to realise how important it was that he continued to look into the future.
Peter had already made incredible progress in his sessions with Luke. However, Longevity’s approach challenged Peter to not be content and rest on his laurels. Before starting at Longevity, Peter hand’t thought much about what he’d like to be able to do in 10, 20 years time. He was forced to confront this reality at Longevity, and to put it bluntly, it scared him.
That is why Peter is still training at Longevity twice a week, with our Neutral Bay Exercise Physiologists Simon and Alex. Peter’s goal is now to maintain his heath, and reduce his risk of developing a chronic illness or injury in the future. Being over 50 years of age, Peter is mindful that his body isn’t quite the same as it was in his 20s. Peter loves that under the guidance of our Exercise Physiologist, he can push himself safely without fearing risk of injury, something that is extremely important to him.
Peter was especially grateful to be able to train with Longevity during the 2021 lockdown. For Peter, it was really important that he continued exercising regularly during this challenging time, both for his physical and mental well-being. Peter appreciates the adaptability and flexibility Longevity had during this period, transitioning to outdoor sessions so he could still continue working with Luke.
Peteralso loves the sense of community that Longevity has fostered. Being surrounded by like minded individuals, just like him, is inspiring for Peter. This community atmosphere, alongside his Exercise Physiologists checking in each week on his progress, provides the accountability and motivation Peter would not have if he trained on his own.
Peter’s progress has been nothing short of remarkable. As of today, he has lost 25kgs and reduced his waist circumference 21cm, all the while building his cardiovascular fitness and strength. This has helped him gain more energy for life a sense of control over his health and well-being.
Peter has not only achieved his initial goals but has set his sights on exciting future milestones. With the continued support of Longevity, he aspires to continue to take control over his long-term health and build his confidence in his knee. Additionally, he aims to continue to conquer new strength and fitness challenges despite managing his history of injuries.
Peter’s story is an inspiration, demonstrating how commitment to Longevity individualised exercise prescription can help you take control of your health and transform your life.
