Confidence, Communication, and Client Connection – Taylah’s Week 4 at Longevity
Hey, it’s Taylah, and I am currently in my final year of completing my Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Deakin University and I’m back to report on how the 4th week of my Internship has been!

Week 4 has continued to develop my skills as I continue to take on running client sessions and building my confidence with delivering the Longevity cardio protocols, which are individualised to each client’s ability and current fitness levels. After discussion with the EP’s for feedback on how my sessions ran, my focus for upcoming sessions was to be able to relate each exercise during the session back to the client’s goals, ensuring they walk away understanding the reason for their exercise prescription. Not only will this aid as a motivational factor to continue exercising, but more importantly it leaves the clients understanding the clear path they are on towards their desired goals.
I also ran this week’s ‘Synergy Session’ with the students where we reflected on our first few weeks together – things we did well and things we can continue to learn and improve on. I collated some advice from the EPs at Coburg on how to best balance collecting client data whilst staying engaged in conversation during a session and relayed this to the students as some extra tips to help them build their confidence and their flow of sessions – I’m looking forward to touching on this next session to see if and how it helped!
Next week I’ll be taking on some new clients by myself so I’m excited for the challenge and to continue building on what I’ve learnt over my first 4 weeks with Longevity.
Onto week 5…
