ZOOM your way to a healthier you-How to use Zoom for Telehealth

The Longevity Exercise Physiology and Personal Training Team in EdgecliffMarrickville, Randwick, Lindfield and Drummoyne are offering Telehealth sessions as one of our primary services during COVID-19. Telehealth sessions are a great option for those who are considered vulnerable and/or those who are self-isolating to be able to continue exercising safely during this time.

Longevity are using 3 different telehealth methods: ZOOM, Physitrack and Facetime to connect with you and assist with your exercise regime. Check out our other “How-to” blogs for specific information on each method:

ZOOM

The importance of social distancing for managing the COVID-19 pandemic means accessing Exercise Physiology online is now the best option for many people. There are a number of platforms from which Longevity is using to provide services. ZOOM is just one of the platforms and in today’s blog we take you through a step by step guide of how to use ZOOM for your next session.

1. Choose a device

You can access ZOOM on a laptop, tablet or phone. We recommend using a laptop so that you and your Exercise Physiologist can see more. For example, see when you’re on the ground, standing or moving side to side.

2. Download the ZOOM App on your phone/tablet or open the ZOOM website on your computer.

Once you have ZOOM opened, click ‘Join a Meeting’.

3. Check your email

A few minutes before your appointment time check your emails. Your Exercise Physiologist will have sent you an email with a meeting ID and password.

Type these into ZOOM on your chosen device and it will take you to a video screen with your trainer.

4. Begin your session

Turn your microphone on, check your camera positioning and you’re ready to go!

If this still sounds confusing, don’t worry! Longevity offers FREE 15min strategy sessions which involve assisting you in downloading ZOOM on the appropriate device, setting up your video and microphone to ensure you are able to be supervised appropriately and a practice run to have a full understanding of how the system will work.

Health is currently a major focus worldwide and as such, there is no better time than to reflect on your own health and ask, could it be improved? Longevity is here to help you make your health a priority and we are experts in preventing and managing chronic health conditions or injuries.
