A Week in the Life of a Paid Intern at Longevity – Ascot Vale, Victoria
Hi! My name is Sevannah and I’ve just wrapped up the 8th week of my part-time internship at Longevity Ascot Vale in Victoria. This week I’ve learnt so much about the type of EP I want to be.
This week I started having more responsibility with taking clients instead of shadowing. I was able to use my own clinical judgement and make decisions about how to appropriately prescribe or adjust programs for the clients based on their presentations.
While I was being supervised, this opportunity allowed me to make mistakes and learn from them, build one-on-one rapport with clients and also continue practicing my clinical skills. Through this, I was able to gain feedback from supervisors about what I did well and how to improve for the next session. With this immediate feedback, I could implement this for the next client if appropriate which made the client’s experience and my service even better.
I am also continually learning how to adapt my communication style to differing personalities, which is always a challenge for any person. Having the opportunity to learn how to change my language or tone for certain people has reminded me how important this skill is to enhance a client’s experience while getting the best outcome for them.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for me next week!
We’d love to offer you an opportunity in our 2026 Longevity Paid Internship Intake!
