Bio

Nate Sutton grew up in Malabar, Sydney, where a love of the surf, community, and basketball shaped his early years. As a talented basketball player, he captained teams at both national and international levels, with a promising sporting career ahead of him.

At 16, that path changed when he suffered a serious ankle injury, rupturing three major ligaments. Months of rehabilitation followed, and even a year later his ankle had not fully recovered. The experience of being sidelined gave Nate a firsthand understanding of the physical and emotional challenges that come with injury and recovery.

A few years later, at 19, Nate was diagnosed with post-viral chronic fatigue. Living through unpredictable energy levels and a frustrating cycle of progress and setbacks, he found himself without a healthcare practitioner that seemed to believe him, and without a clear plan for recovery. His condition affected his ability to exercise, study, and stay socially connected, exposing him to the uncertainty, and isolation that many people with chronic conditions face.

The COVID-19 lockdowns added another layer of challenge, bringing prolonged isolation and a difficult period of anxiety and depression. Having seen the impact of mental health struggles within his own family from a young age, Nate understands how closely physical and mental wellbeing are connected.

Throughout these experiences, exercise became a powerful part of Nate’s recovery. It gave him purpose, confidence, and a renewed sense of connection, inspiring him to study Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Today, Nate is passionate about bringing a new wave of preventative healthcare to Australia, helping people regain, and protect their health and happiness through evidence-based exercise. He believes that meaningful healthcare starts with hope, a personalised plan, and the support of a trusted team, and is committed to delivering that for every person in Australia.
