What the Longevity Team is Loving about Lockdown
Today Longevity Exercise Physiology Drummoyne, Edgecliff, Marrickville, Bella Vista, Randwick, Pymble, Neutral Bay and Balmain want to bring some warmth and cheer to our Longevity family.
We are going through the worst times of the pandemic to date. With the unrelenting lockdown, bombardment of bad news and constant uncertainty, it’s no wonder so many are finding it difficult to see a bright side, or find things to look forward to.
Here at Longevity we feel you. While we wholeheartedly support the lockdown, understanding its importance for the greater good, we also know it comes with sacrifices. It’s ok to not be okay, but we wanted to take a moment to discuss some possible silver linings and perhaps a fresh perspective. So instead of focusing on the bad, we asked our team to tell us what they are loving in lockdown, and in true Longevity fashion, they delivered. Here is what they said.
- Guy from Edgecliff/Marrickville is enjoying exercising outside more often (with an extra set of eyes watching for technique)
- Shannon from Edgecliff is loving a little extra time to cook healthy and yummy meals everyday…did someone say Halloumi?
- Kale from Drummoyne is loving his evening walks…a little ‘me time’ perhaps?
- Luke from Neutral Bay is loving spending more time hanging out with his daughter Lily!
- Jackie from Bella Vista is loving the empty roads…less commute time…yes please!
- Nikki from Neutral Bay is loving a bit of extra time for a morning coffee on the balcony
- Josh from Pymble/Balmain is loving the extra time for reading with his dog. I think Neo wants a little attention
- Andrew from Neutral Bay is enjoying some time for reflection, appreciating he can work everyday, making a positive impact with fulfilling work
- Susannah from Pymble is loving more walks with her little man. What a great workout pair they make
- Annabel from Neutral Bay is loving being able to watch the sunsets in the afternoon…so many colours!
- Georgia from Drummoyne is loving the fact she is still able to get out an run with her training partner. Social interaction, within restrictions and exercise…that’s a winner!
- Hannah from Randwick is loving her quick 20 minute walks around the neighbourhood a few times a day. Way to meet the guidelines Hannah!
- Courtney from Edgecliff is loving sharing more meals with her housemates and getting creative in the kitchen. Dumplings and lasagne and roast pork oh my!
- Angela from Edgecliff is enjoying some extra time outdoors to walk, stretch and embrace the day
- Ashleigh from Randwick is loving more time outdoors and with the family watching NRL (as long as they are rooting for the same team)
- Naomi from Pymble is loving taking the time to appreciate the little things and brush up on her photography skills
What are you loving about lockdown? Whether it’s having a crack at a new recipe like Courtney, enjoying a sunset like Annabel, or even spending all day in pyjama bottoms because comfort is key, we want to hear it.
And now we put the question to you. What are you loving about lockdown? Whether it’s having a crack at a new recipe like Courtney, enjoying a sunset like Annabel, or even spending all day in pyjama bottoms because comfort is key, we want to hear it. Well ideally we want to see it.
Take a picture and add it to Instagram with the hashtag #longevitylockdownlove.
Let’s start fighting back against all the negative and start spreading a little cheer instead.
