Client Success Story – Ali Merhi
With a push from one of his co-workers, Ali signed up to Plus Fitness in Kingsgrove last year in June in order to get his health on track. With a history of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol and knee pain, Ali knew he needed to make a change leading into his 60th birthday.
With no history in the gym and unsure exactly what he needed to be doing, Ali booked in with Longevity Exercise Physiologist, Izaac, in order to enhance his understanding of his body, its needs and how exercise can help improve his wellbeing.
Fast forward 16 months, Ali is enjoying his one-on-one, 60-minute gym sessions with the team more than ever! His blood pressure is now within normal ranges, blood sugar and cholesterol levels have stabilised and his previous knee pain is no longer limiting him on a day-to-day basis.
Exercise has transformed Ali’s life over the last year and he is now a regular at the gym, completing his EP sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at 4pm, and then exercising with his friends every other day. Ali loves the convenience of having the same appointment time secured for him for life, and feels so supported having direct contact to his Exercise Physiologists outside of his sessions.
“Since training with Longevity, my blood pressure and sugar levels are now perfect, and I now love coming to the gym and participating in my sessions every week. I always have so much fun training with Nat, Alice and the team. Thank you for your help.”
Ali’s training focus has now slightly shifted to reducing his overall body weight so he feels lighter on his feet at work and he feels as though he is on the best path under the guidance of his current Longevity Exercise Physiologists, Nat and Alice. He is also really excited to be committing to completing the City2Surf in 2025 with the team!
