Georgia Wassall

Cluster Manager and Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Bio

For over 15 years, Georgia has gained extensive knowledge in the fundamental principles of exercise science whilst competing as an elite 800m runner. She has worked with some of Australia’s best sport scientists, psychologist, and nutritionists from the AIS and New South Wales Institute of Sport. In 2014 Georgia placed 3rd at the IAAF World Junior Championships and after years of setback due to injury and illness was this year named NSW state champion in the Women’s 800m.

Georgia is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist after completing her Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney. Using the principles she has learned through her experience as an athlete combined with her university degree has given Georgia a strong foundation to effectively treat clients of varying ages and abilities with great success. Georgia has worked with clients living with heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries and mental health conditions. Georgia also has extensive experience training teenage athletes, working with two prestigious Sydney private schools athletics teams whilst studying.

Georgia was initially drawn to Exercise Physiology due to her background in elite sport but through her 4 years of study has developed a strong passion for helping individuals with chronic conditions using exercise as medicine. Georgia has a special interest in working with the elderly and is incredibly passionate about promoting the message that no one is too old or deconditioned to exercise. She has thoroughly enjoyed prescribing her own grandparents exercise over the years and seeing great improvements in their condition and quality of life.
