Do you have what it takes to be an everyday Olympian?

Today Longevity Exercise Physiology Drummoyne, EdgecliffMarrickvilleBella VistaRandwickPymbleNeutral Bay and Balmain discuss becoming an everyday Olympian.

So while you may not be in training to run marathons, you are always in training to maintain your quality of life

The Olympics showcases the best talent in the world. It reflects the rewards of discipline, resilience, courage, determination and sacrifice. This is even more prevalent in the Paralympians. As we ready ourselves and our televisions to watch these remarkable human beings, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how you, yourself are remarkable. You see, daily activities such as sweeping, carrying the shopping and hanging out the clothes all require energy and strength. They all require a certain level of fitness to be completed comfortably. So while you may not be in training to run marathons, you are always in training to maintain your quality of life. With this current lockdown, we are seeing far too regularly the effects of not moving. Fitness and strength quickly deteriorate leading to increased risk of chronic health conditions and falls, not to mention the damaging effects on mental health. Things that you may have found nice and easy to do pre Covid, may now be becoming more difficult. This could be as simple as getting puffed climbing the stairs, feeling less confident moving around or even struggling to brush your hair or dress yourself. While we support the lockdown, we know it does come with some
physical and psychological consequences.

Just as the Paralympians have their support teams, we at Longevity are ready to step in as yours

There is good news though. It’s never too late to take control or your life and to do something about it. That’s where we come in. Just as the Paralympians have their support teams, we at Longevity are ready to step in as yours. You see, the steps taken to make each Olympian great, are the same steps you need to help thrive in everyday life. It’s simple….set a goal, create an action plan and then follow through.
