When My World Changed, Movement Became My Medicine
In 2023, my life changed when I sustained a severe traumatic brain injury.
Recovery wasn’t simply about healing physically—it was about rebuilding my ability to think clearly, concentrate, remember, and regain confidence in everyday life. While my rehabilitation involved many components, one intervention became a cornerstone of my recovery: an individualised, high-intensity strength training program.
Experiencing firsthand how exercise influenced my cognitive recovery completely transformed the way I view health. It wasn’t just about getting stronger—it was about giving my brain the best opportunity to adapt, recover, and thrive.
Today, research continues to show that exercise is one of the most effective tools we have to support cognitive function across the lifespan.
